Commercial Dehumidifiers and Natatorium Dehumidifiers
Commercial, refrigeration-based dehumidification systems tend to be more cost-efficient to operate than desiccant systems. Typically, commercial refrigeration systems are not used for applications below 45% RH. For instance, maintaining an outlet condition of 40% RH would necessitate bringing the coil temperature down to 30º F. This will result in the formation of ice on the coil, which requires a defrost cycle and thereby reduces the system’s moisture removal capacity and reliability to maintain setpoint. Defrost cycles, tandem coils, and dual air paths or brine solutions can be implemented, yet measures can be both cumbersome, expensive, and unreliable over time.
