Temprite Air Turnover Systems
Air turnover systems, also referred to as air rotation* systems, are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the facility and can incorporate some levels of make-up air in their design and application. Air turnover provides large open space facilities key benefits other systems cannot. One of those benefits would be the system’s ability to destratify the conditioned space, holding the entire facility in tolerance for temperature and humidity without the use of ductwork. Another benefit is maintenance becomes much easier at ground level either indoors or outdoors.
Koch Applied Solutions is proud to partner with Temprite who offers high quality and reliable HVAC solutions including air rotation systems, air turnover systems, and more. Temprite products are designed for simple service and maintenance, and they feature one of the lowest warranty cost histories in the industry backed by its parent company, Mestek.
The TAA uses the Air Turnover principle to take advantage of air stratification in buildings with open spaces by allowing hot air to become trapped at the ceiling. Continuous air circulation mixes the air to maintain consistent room temperature, eliminating the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials due to uneven room temperature.
- Floor mounted heating and cooling, or cooling-only units
- Large volume air movement turns the room air over 2.5 to 5 times each hour.
- Designed to maintain comfortable room temperatures without a duct distribution system
- Available with air delivery from 13,000 to 81,000 CFM
- Standard DX cooling coil capacities are from a nominal 27 to 148 tons
- Standard chilled-water coil capacities are from a nominal 28 to 140 tons
- Optional indirect fired gas heat section – capacities from 650,000 to 4,000,000 BTUH

Unique floor mounted cooling only units, TAC Series Air Turnover units are designed to maintain comfortable room temperatures without a duct distribution system. Continuous air circulation thoroughly mixes the air to maintain uniform room temperature, eliminating the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials due to uneven room temperature.
- Available with air delivery from 13,000 to 81,000 CFM
- Standard DX cooling coil capacities are from a nominal 27 to 148 tons
- Standard chilled-water coil capacities are from a nominal 28 to 140 tons
- Energy efficient propeller fans turn the room air over 2.5 to 5 times each hour

The TAS (EMP) is a floor mounted unit which eliminates air stratification in heated buildings with open spaces by recirculating hot air trapped at the ceiling. This is accomplished by removing colder layers that maintain the thermal barrier that causes the problem. Uniform room temperature eliminates the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials because of uneven room temperature.
- Energy efficient propeller fans turn the room air over 2.5 to 4 times each hour
- Continuous air circulation maintains uniform room temperature
- Cold air from open doors in shipping and receiving areas is less of a problem
- Temperature recovery is almost instantaneous after doors are closed
- Air moving unit only; does not contain heating or cooling sections.
- Air handling range from 9,100 to 150,000 using propeller fans

Air Turnover Systems is a designation describing a unique class of commercial and industrial heating or heating equipment used to condition large spaces. Air Turnover eliminates air stratification in heated buildings with open spaces by recirculating hot air trapped at the ceiling. The resulting uniform room temperature eliminates the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials. Cold air from open doors becomes less of a problem, and temperature recovery is almost instantaneous after doors are closed.
- Large volume air movement turns the room air over 1 to 5 times each hour
- Continuous air circulation thoroughly mixes the air to maintain room temperature
- TAP units have nominal heating capacities from 350,000 to 6,000,000 BTUH
- Air handling capacities from 6,600 to 150,000 CFM

The TAJ is an air turnover system designed for smaller spaces. Air turnover eliminates air stratification in heated buildings with open spaces. The system recirculates hot air trapped at the ceiling by removing the colder layers that maintain a thermal barrier. Continuous air circulation thoroughly mixes the air to maintain uniform room temperature. This uniform room temperature eliminates the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials. Cold air from open doors in shipping and receiving areas is less of a problem with an Air Turnover unit.
- Designed for smaller spaces (4,000 to 12,100 CFM)
- Cooling via an optional “A”-coil with capacities from a nominal 9.5 to 24 tons
- Large volume air movement turns the room air over 1 to 5 times each hour
- Temperature recovery is almost instantaneous after doors are closed

Temprite Makeup Air Systems
A wide range of industrial and commercial facilities require the use of make-up air units often due to environmental needs or building envelope needs. These units often are filtration and heat only systems that move larger quantities of air. There are many solutions and options available when looking at make-up air units including energy recovery systems, dehumidification, integrated cooling, and customized solutions to meet the exact need of the project. These units are designed to improve indoor air quality and building health.
Koch Applied Solutions is proud to partner with Temprite who offers high quality and reliable HVAC solutions including direct fired and indirect make-up air units, and more. Temprite products are designed for simple service and maintenance, and they feature one of the lowest warranty cost histories in the industry backed by its parent company, Mestek.
